Nicole is an avid writer, working towards a Creative Writing Major at Colorado State University. She strives to go into the publishing industry after graduating while still maintaining time for her hobbies of drawing, singing, and playing video games.

Jo is one of those types of people who either stay inside and read all day, or is outside playing every sport known to man. Her favourite author is Tamora Pierce, and wishes she could be like her characters. The sport she is currently involved in is Quidditch, and she couldn’t ask for a better team and the friends that she’s made on it. She hopes to be an English teacher someday, and she loves to do editing-type work often.

David Hinson is a creative writing major at Colorado State University. He is a member of the Colorado State University Symphony Orchestra, and he loves NASCAR.

Andrew is currently a sophomore at Colorado State University studying English Education and Creative Writing. He hopes to be a middle school or high school teacher once he graduates from CSU. He enjoys writing poetry and fiction as well as playing music. He is a writer for the Hall Monitor Herald, a satirical publication sponsored by ASCSU and the Collegian.

Andres is currently privately commissioned to build 1/30 scale WWII dioramas in Loveland, Colorado. He is interested in continuing his work in art through dioramas, but his primary aspiration is to positively reform education in the U.S. Andres is excited to be a part of JUR and its mission to promote scholarly excellence of undergraduates around the globe. In his free time, Andres enjoys exploring the beautiful state of Colorado with his family and friends.

Tommaso is an honors student at the Collegio Carlo Alberto (Turin) and undergraduate student in Economics and Statistics at the University of Turin. His scientific interests include mathematics, economics, and philosophy. He has a deep interest in academic writing and research work. His recent studies focus on the field of complexity; he strongly believes in the constructiveness of an interdisciplinary approach. Andreea has an interdisciplinary background in humanities (with a strong focus on foreign languages, editing, and writing), public health, research design, and data analysis in social sciences. Currently she is enrolled in her second year of studies in Public Health, and is an intern for the Center for Health Policy in Cluj-Napoca, Romania. She is pursuing her bachelor’s and master’s degree simultaneously in order to become a future researcher, and she is working on some of her main interests now, which are scientific writing and editing.

Abbey Pizel is from Creede a small town located in Southwest Colorado. She is currently a junior at CSU studying Environmental and Natural Resource Economics. She plans to one day attend law school at CU to obtain Juris Doctor in Natural Resource Law. Abbey hopes to utilize her skills in in these fields to pursue her passion of Colorado water allocation and sustainability. In her free time, Abbey enjoys yoga and running to keep her mind and body healthy; however, her favorite place to be is on the ski slope. In the winter, she tries to become as close to a ski bum as possible and spends her summers soaking up the sunshine or riding her horse.

Deanna, also know as Dee to her friends, hails from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. While Colorado is a far cry from the City of Brotherly Love, Dee enjoys all that life has to offer past the 100th meridian, including hiking, biking, and rock climbing. She is dual majoring in Natural Resources Management and Journalism and Technical Communication with a minor in Global Environmental Sustainability. Her career goals include addressing energy concerns through sustainability consulting and becoming and environment editor for a scientific publication. When not at the JUR office, Dee enjoys working in a soil ecology labratory, playing the harp, and taking care of her rambunctious guinea pig, Mugatu.
