Operations Associates

Erin is originally from El Paso, Texas and is a Journalism student at Colorado State University with a focus in public relations. After graduation she hopes to combine her social media savvy with her love of music and travel working for production companies or music venues to organize and market major events and festivals. When she’s not at school or working, she can be found in one of three places: rock climbing at the rec center, reading out on the oval, or drinking copious amounts of coffee at her favorite coffee shop.

Emily Ward
Associate Editor

Emily is a senior at Colorado State University who is majoring in Psychology and minoring in Religious Studies. She has been on the JUR staff since 2013, and has also worked in Dr. Silvia Canetto’s social psychology research lab since 2012. When not involved in academic pursuits, Emily works as a Youth Director for a local church, pretends to be good at yoga, and spends too much time being harassed by her very judgmental cat. Emily hopes to continue her academic career by pursuing a Master of Arts in Philosophy and eventually becoming a professor.

Ben Fisk

Ben_Fisk
Ben Fisk
Associate Editor
Ben is an aspiring author with four books down and way too many to go. When not neck deep in literature, Ben is usually playing volleyball or videogames, filming a Youtube series about a discount hit man or simply kicking back and trying to understand sports. Ben’s most Coloradan moment was when he climbed four 14ers in one day. If Ben lived in a perfect world, he would be able to make a living off of his writing, but until that day comes, his only goal is to make it get here sooner.

Audrey comes to Colorado from Spokane, Washington, where her parents and two little sisters continue to live. Academically, Audrey is interested in immunology, physiology, and scientific writing. Personally, Audrey loves to hike, run, watch sunsets, and eat ice cream. Outside of JUR, most of Audrey’s time is split between class, the Honors Association, and Pi Beta Phi membership. Audrey is still unsure of her dream career, but she hopes to make the wonders of science more attainable and interesting to all.

Thomas is interested in structural geology and geophysics and hopes to continue his education with a Master’s degree and—hopefully, some day—a Doctorate. Currently Thomas is working with Dr. Jamie Kirkpatrick to model and numerically analyze fault rock from the 2011 Tohoku earthquake, as well as with Dr. Bill Sanford to study the shear strength of soil in an area of Arapaho National Forest that has been extensively devastated by pine beetles. When Thomas finds himself with spare time he enjoys hiking and exploring Northern Colorado, cooking and baking, or just sitting down to enjoy a great book.
